2026 Special Municipal Election
On March 16, 2026, Councillor Justin Serino submitted his resignation as a Town Councillor for the Town of Berwick. Section 13(1) of the Municipal Elections Act requires Council, within four weeks of the vacancy, to make a day for a special election. At the Special Council meeting on March 31, 2026, Council set the special election polling day to be Saturday, June 20, 2026. Nomination Day, will be on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 (fourth Tuesday before ordinary polling day). This election will be fully electronic (internet and phone) with voting to begin at noon on Thursday, June 11, 2026.

IMPORTANT DATES:
November 26, 2025 - Must be a resident of the Town of Berwick by this date in order to qualify as a candidate in the Special Election.
May 14-25, 2026 - Nomination can be filed BY APPOINTMENT during this period.
May 26, 2026 - Nomination Day, nomination forms can be filed anytime (no appointment necessary) from 9am-5pm at the Town Hall, 236 Commercial Street
June 11, 2026 - Voting begins at noon for the Special Election
June 20, 2026 - Ordinary polling day. A polling station will be set up at the Town Hall, 236 Commercial Street, Berwick from 8am-7pm. Unofficial results will be available soon after the polls close at 7:00 pm.
