Berwick and District Volunteer Fire Department

What we do

Established in 1915, the Berwick & District Volunteer Fire Department now serves approximately 100 square miles of district, providing fire prevention and protection to various types of industry, fishing villages, processing plants and residential neighborhoods. Members respond on average to over 100 alarms per year.

The Berwick & District Volunteer Fire Department continually recruits for new members. The calling can be a fulfilling, exciting, and truly meaningful way to forge lifelong comrades and to contribute to the community at large. Applications are available at the main office in Berwick's Town Hall. Members of the BDVFD hold several fundraising events throughout the year. Contact your favorite firefighter for a schedule of events.
