Summer Concert Series: Call for performers!

The Town of Berwick is seeking musical entertainment to perform during our weekly Concert Series this summer (July-September 2025).
Performers must be able to provide a 55-minute set, have experience playing for a public audience (100+ people), and be available to perform on Thursday evenings. Bands must supply their own instruments and sound equipment.


Selected applicants will be paid $300 (total) for groups of 2 or fewer members, and $500 (total) for groups of 3 or more members.
Concerts will take place on Thursday evenings, with times between 6:00 and 8:00 PM. In the event of inclement weather, concerts may be rescheduled to the following Sunday afternoon.


Please send a short biography highlighting past performances, the name of your band, the types of music played, contact information, and the number of band members to with the subject line “Concert Series Performer.” Also, include any Thursday dates that you are unavailable between July 1 and September 30, 2025.


Deadline to apply: Friday, May 9, 2025, by 2:30 PM.

Employment Opportunity: Apple Capital Museum

Now Hiring: Museum Manager (Summer Term)
Location: Berwick, NS
Hours: 35 hours/week, Monday–Friday
Term: 9–10 weeks

The Town of Berwick, on behalf of the Apple Capital Museum Society, is hiring a Museum Manager to lead summer operations at the Apple Capital Museum and Visitor Information Centre. This is a great opportunity for a college or university student with a passion for history, tourism, and community engagement.

About the Role:
The Museum Manager will be responsible for supporting day-to-day operations, assisting with historical displays, engaging with the public, and helping to plan fundraising and community initiatives. This is a hands-on role that combines leadership, creativity, and a love of local heritage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate the museum and support the Visitor Information Centre

  • Greet and assist visitors, sharing historical and tourism information

  • Curate exhibits and update historical displays

  • Support fundraising and promotional activities

  • Help coordinate volunteers and maintain regular communication with the Museum Society

  • Ensure the space is welcoming, accessible, and organized

What We’re Looking For:

  • Self-motivated, organized, and reliable

  • Strong communication and computer skills

  • Interest in local history and community development

  • Familiarity with Berwick and surrounding area is an asset

  • Experience or education in a related field (history, tourism, or community engagement) preferred

Development Agreement to construct 120 residential units at Lot 1-AC Commercial Street, Berwick

TAKE NOTICE that on February 25, 2025, Berwick Town Council approved a motion to enter into a development agreement with ​​3264285 Nova Scotia Limited regarding lands on Lot 1-AC Commercial Street (PID 55240048) to construct 120 residential units.

Pursuant to Section 247 and Section 249 of the Municipal Government Act, an aggrieved person, the Director of Planning, or an adjoining Municipality may appeal Council’s decision to the Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board within fourteen (14) days from the date of this publication.  Inquiries respecting the appeal procedure can be made to the NSUARB at www.nsuarb.novascotia.ca or by calling 902-424-4448.
